Modal verbs very often appear in songs. There are some examples you may find useful in learning these structures:

1.MIGHT: We might as well be strangers (Podríamos ser dos desconocidos también)

2.MUST: Show must go on (El espectáculo debe continuar)

3.SHOULD: Should I stay or should I go? (¿Debería quedarme o irme?)

4.COULD (probabilidad): You could be happy (Podrías ser feliz)

5.CAN (Ability, Request -petición): Can you meet me halfway? (¿Podemos quedar en la mitad del camino?)

Usamos used to para hablar de algo que solíamos hacer en el pasado, pero que ahora ya no hacemos.

AMERICAN OBESITY PROBLEM

The U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that about six out of ten Americans were either overweight or obese. Furthermore, the prevalence of obesity almost doubled from about 15 percent in 1980 to 27 percent in 1999. Dr. J. McGinnis said the current weight statistics predict future problems. 'Obesity now will lead to a higher number of deaths from diabetes, heart disease, stroke and certain types of cancer, and increased prevalence of osteoarthritis."

The CDC noted that most schools have vending machines or snack bars including foods that are largely nutrient-poor and calorie-rich. People are also less likely to cook for themselves these days. Roughly half of all meals are consumed outside the home and many of these are from fast foods. "We have become year-by-year an increasingly sedentary society," McGinnis said. "People used to enjoy walking a half-mile or a quarter-mile but now they take the car to go across the street. And instead of walking or playing sports during free time, children sit in front of the TV or computer. These are unhealthy habits because their muscles are not moving and transportation has become so easy that children are driven everywhere." So educating the public about healthy nutrition and exercise is essential, the experts said. Healthy foods and more intense physical activity in schools are also important.

¿CÓMO INSERTAR UN VÍDEO EN TU BLOG?

Para aquellos que se han lanzado a crear un blog y quieren incluir vídeos, explico los pasos a seguir.
Antes de nada, aquí tenéis una lista de los servidores que os ofrecen vídeos. Echadle un vistazo.

PASOS:

1.Una vez que hayas buscado el vídeo que quieres insertar, clicka sobre él y se abrirá en una pantalla mayor. Al lado de la pantalla, aparecerá el código del vídeo en una ventanita titulada "Embed".

2.Copia el código de "Embed" y asegúrate de que lo copias entero.

3.Abre la entrada de tu blog donde quieras publicar el vídeo y escribe los comentarios que quieras que aparezcan encima del vídeo.

4.Ahora, escoge la pestaña "Edición de HTML" y pega el código que habías copiado.

5.Publica tu entrada.

HEALTHY LIFE

Rest and relaxation are just as important to our body as exercise and healthy eating. If you don’t get enough of them you can make yourself ill. Your body is a bit like a battery. If it is not allowed to recharge itself through sleep and relaxation it may stop working properly.
Lack of sleep affects our ability to concentrate. When you dream, your brain may be clearing itself out and preparing itself for the next day's thinking. During your teens, you need at least eight hours' sleep a night. If you stay out late, try to go to bed early the next night. The effects of lack of sleep can build up over several days. When you are awake you make many demands on your mind and body. Your body needs a period of rest to repair itself and prevent it from getting worn out.
During sleep, substances called hormones stimulate body tissues to grow and repair themselves. If you have troubles getting to sleep, try reading a book to calm your mind or take some exercise and avoid tea, coffee or food before bedtime. A hot, milky drink may help you relax.
